With a temperature measurement range of -20°C to 550°C (-4°F to 1022°F), the QualiTC™ 20 handles a wide range of electrical and industrial inspection tasks.

The QualiTC™ 20 thermal camera features outline fusion, overlay fusion, and picture-in-picture imaging modes, allowing thermal data to appear alongside the visible scene for faster fault identification. Its 83° × 55° visible-light field of view captures a broad area, making it easier to understand the inspection environment and locate problem areas. Distance compensation supports measurements up to 5 meters, helping maintain reliable temperature readings at common inspection distances. Theory and Method

The QualiTC™ 20 handheld thermal imager detects infrared radiation emitted by surfaces above absolute zero and converts that energy into temperature data. The camera operates in the 8–14 micrometer long-wave infrared (LWIR) band using a 256×192 microbolometer detector array. Each detector element responds to absorbed infrared energy by changing its electrical resistance. The onboard processor analyzes these changes, calculates a temperature value for each pixel, and converts the data into a false-color thermal image displayed on the large 3.5-inch screen.

Alongside the infrared sensor, the QualiTC™ 20 features a 720P visible-light camera that captures a standard image of the same inspection area. The processor compensates for parallax between the two camera positions and aligns the visible image with the thermal data. This enables three imaging modes: outline fusion, which adds visible-image edges to the thermal image; overlay fusion, which blends thermal and visible images at an adjustable ratio; and picture-in-picture, which places a thermal image window within the visible-light frame. These modes provide additional visual context when locating and documenting temperature anomalies.

The 5-meter distance compensation feature accounts for changes in infrared signal transmission through the air when measuring targets at greater distances. The QualiTC™ 20 also provides a NETD of 50 mK at 25°C, allowing the thermal sensor to distinguish temperature differences as small as 0.05°C. This sensitivity helps reveal subtle thermal variations and separate abnormal heat from normal background temperature changes during electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and building inspections.

Return Policy:

Qualitest USA may accept return of purchased merchandise within North America for refund or credit under the following conditions -

  • There may be an additional restocking fee charged to the transaction if items are already shipped to customer.
  • Goods must be returned to Qualitest USA within 5 days of the date of the receipt of the purchased goods.
  • All freight, duties, customs, and other related shipping charges for the returned merchandise are borne by the purchaser. Shipments made freight collect will be refused.
  • Merchandise must be returned properly packaged in brand new, salable condition, along with original packaging and all documentation, accessories and certificates.
  • Purchaser has confirmed return authorization directly with Qualitest.
  • Merchandise is regular catalog item. Special order items can not be returned.
  • All returned merchandise is subject to inspection by Qualitest. Qualitest reserves the right to refuse return of any merchandise that is used, damaged, or not part of the current published price list. In the case Qualitest does not accept the returned merchandise, reasonable attempts will be made to notify the Buyer and the merchandise will be returned to Buyer as they were received by Qualitest. Damaged merchandise that can be restored to original condition and thus accepted for return will be evaluated on an individual basis.
