Theory and Method

The QualiTC™ 15 Handheld Thermal Camera detects infrared radiation emitted by surfaces above absolute zero and converts that energy into temperature information. The camera operates in the 8 to 14 micrometer long-wave infrared (LWIR) band and uses a 120×90 microbolometer array to capture thermal radiation. As each detector element absorbs infrared energy, its electrical resistance changes. The camera's onboard processor analyzes these changes and calculates a temperature value for each pixel, producing a detailed false-color thermal image.

A separate 720P visible-light camera captures a conventional image of the same scene at the time of the thermal measurement. The image-processing system accounts for the difference in position between the thermal and visible cameras and aligns the two images for combined viewing. Outline fusion places visible-image edges over the thermal image, while overlay fusion blends thermal and visible information at an adjustable ratio. Picture-in-picture mode places a thermal image window within the visible-light image, giving users multiple ways to interpret temperature data alongside the physical scene.

The QualiTC™ 15 also provides full-screen, center-point, and regional measurement modes, allowing users to select different areas of the thermal image for temperature analysis. High- and low-temperature tracking continuously scans the thermal frame to identify the hottest and coldest points. For advanced post-inspection analysis, the companion 3D thermal analysis software can reconstruct a spatial model from a sequence of captured images. This allows users to review temperature distribution across a surface in greater detail rather than relying only on a single two-dimensional thermal image.

Return Policy:

Qualitest USA may accept return of purchased merchandise within North America for refund or credit under the following conditions -

  • There may be an additional restocking fee charged to the transaction if items are already shipped to customer.
  • Goods must be returned to Qualitest USA within 5 days of the date of the receipt of the purchased goods.
  • All freight, duties, customs, and other related shipping charges for the returned merchandise are borne by the purchaser. Shipments made freight collect will be refused.
  • Merchandise must be returned properly packaged in brand new, salable condition, along with original packaging and all documentation, accessories and certificates.
  • Purchaser has confirmed return authorization directly with Qualitest.
  • Merchandise is regular catalog item. Special order items can not be returned.
  • All returned merchandise is subject to inspection by Qualitest. Qualitest reserves the right to refuse return of any merchandise that is used, damaged, or not part of the current published price list. In the case Qualitest does not accept the returned merchandise, reasonable attempts will be made to notify the Buyer and the merchandise will be returned to Buyer as they were received by Qualitest.
