Rockwell Hardness Tester Overview

The HardRocker 150-A manual benchtop setup operates as a dedicated rockwell hardness tester built to verify material resistance across both iron-based and non-iron metallic alloys.

Constructed around solid metal castings, a vertical spindle free of sliding friction, and a precision hydraulic system, this setup prevents mechanical binding throughout standard load cycles. An easy-to-operate hand lever lets your technicians run mechanical load cycles smoothly, delivering direct dial feedback at 0.5HR increments without any need for electrical wall outlets.

For American manufacturing facilities and domestic materials testing crews, this mechanical configuration brings dependable baseline readings to daily workpiece screening. The testing station accepts solid metal pieces up to 6.7 inches (170 mm) in total vertical clearance and offers 5 inches (128 mm) of throat clearance.

This generous working area gives your inspection team sufficient room to check a wide variety of heat-treated samples right where work gets finished.

Compliance & Standards

For production facilities and machine shops operating across the United States, alignment with accepted domestic testing rules is necessary for formal quality approval.

The HardRocker 150-A rockwell hardness tester complies with the technical criteria set down in ASTM E18. Because it fulfills these explicit requirements, your staff can generate verifiable inspection figures that integrate smoothly into domestic commercial supply agreements.

Beyond domestic criteria, the unit satisfies international inspection guidelines, conforming to ISO 6508-2 as well as Japanese industrial rules under JIS Z2245. These secondary global baselines verify that your hardness validation results match expectations when you exchange product data with overseas buyers or international manufacturing partners.

Key Features & Specifications

  • Three Standard Scale Ranges (20 to 88 HRA, 20 to 100 HRB, and 20 to 70 HRC): Enables your inspection staff to check hardness values across non-ferrous metals as well as iron-based alloys using one rockwell hardness tester station.
  • Selectable Test Forces (60, 100, and 150 kgf / 588.4, 980.7, and 1471 N): Applies the specific minor and major mechanical loads required to perform accurate Rockwell evaluations across multiple metal grades.
  • Heavy Cast Housing at 143 lbs (65 kg): Delivers substantial mass that dampens minor surrounding floor vibrations so the analog pointer settles reliably on busy American shop floors.
  • No-Friction Spindle and Precision Hydraulic System: Delivers steady, uniform penetration cycles without mechanical hesitation, protecting delicate test specimens from uneven indentations.
  • Direct Dial Display with 0.5HR Resolution: Presents test values clearly on the front dial face, permitting immediate visual verification without requiring conversion calculations.
  • 19.68 x 8.86 x 25.20 Inch Footprint with 6.7-Inch Clearance: Fits neatly on standard US workbench setups while accommodating sizable workpieces up to 6.7 inches high and 5 inches deep into the throat.
  • Factory Standard Tooling Package: Includes large and small flat anvils, a V-groove anvil, a diamond penetrator, a steel ball penetrator, calibrated test blocks, and a protective dust cover, providing everything you need to start sample evaluations right away.

Product Applications & Operating Environments

The HardRocker 150-A rockwell hardness tester is intended for indoor industrial environments, such as American machining floors, testing laboratories, and quality control departments. Because the instrument relies entirely on mechanical weights, a hand lever, and hydraulic fluid control rather than electric circuits or wall cords, you can locate the benchtop station directly in busy production rooms without needing plug-in outlets.

The system is suited for checking metal components through heat treatment workflows, including material quenching, hardening, and tempering. Operators can secure rounded shafts on the included V-groove anvil or place flat metal pieces on the flat plates, confirming that heat-treated parts have reached their specified surface hardness before clearing batches for subsequent production stages.
