  • Clear LCD Display: A high-contrast LCD with a white background and black text provides clear visibility of weight readings during routine operation.

  • RS232 Interface: Connects the balance to a computer or printer for data output, measurement records, and documentation.

Theory and Method

A portable precision electronic balance measures the force generated by a sample placed on its weighing pan and converts that measurement into a digital mass reading. The pan transfers the applied load to a precision force-measuring cell, while the electronic system processes the signal and displays the corresponding weight value. With 0.01 g readability, the high-resolution QVMBL model can detect small changes in sample weight with reliable repeatability. Once the measurement stabilizes, the result is displayed, with the QVMBL Series reaching a stable reading in approximately two seconds.

External Calibration for Accurate Weighing

Calibration is essential for maintaining weighing accuracy. The QVMBL Series features external calibration, allowing the operator to place a certified calibration weight on the pan. The balance then adjusts its measurement span to correspond with the known reference value. Performing calibration after transportation, relocation, or significant temperature changes helps maintain accurate and consistent results.

Overload Protection

The QVMBL Series incorporates overload protection to help safeguard the weighing cell when a load exceeds the balance's rated capacity. This feature is particularly useful for a portable precision balance that may be transported between laboratories, workshops, warehouses, and field locations.

Stable Measurement Conditions

Accurate weighing also depends on proper operating conditions. For reliable results, the balance should be positioned on a level, stable, and vibration-free surface and operated under consistent temperature conditions. The QVMBL Series supports an operating temperature range of 10°C to 40°C, making it suitable for laboratory, workshop, production, and field environments.

The compact ABS housing provides durability for routine handling, while the stainless-steel weighing pan offers a practical surface for daily weighing tasks. The high-resolution 300 g model also includes a draft shield to help minimize the effects of air movement when performing fine measurements.
