Oil Particle Counter Overview

The QualiOPC™ 500 operates as an inline contamination evaluation instrument built to measure solid particulate matter inside hydraulic fluids, mechanical lubricants, and circulating machinery oils across American production plants.

Utilizing a light-blocking shading setup, the hardware passes fluid past a focused semiconductor laser beam. Whenever dirt or metal flakes travel past this optical detection gate, they interrupt the beam. The system registers those light interruptions immediately and translates them into solid particle numbers and cleanliness grades.

Because the hardware completes testing while machinery remains in continuous motion, domestic plant crews obtain immediate condition assessments without stopping production lines. Having this direct stream of contamination levels assists you in spotting dirty fluid earlier, limiting unanticipated equipment shutdowns, and scheduling maintenance intervals with high accuracy.

Compliance & Standards

To align with standard criteria across American facilities, the hardware integrates common domestic aerospace and industrial fluid cleanliness codes:

  • SAE AS4059E and SAE AS4059F: Standard cleanliness grading scales recognized across US aerospace hydraulic systems and critical fluid installations.
  • NAS 1638: Familiar contamination reporting structure utilized by domestic fluid maintenance crews and aviation facilities.
  • SAE 749D: Historic cleanliness reference kept active for backward compatibility across legacy American equipment.

The online particle counter also accommodates broad international testing requirements to support export machinery and overseas fleets:

  • ISO 4406: Primary worldwide code for defining industrial fluid cleanliness by grouping solid particle counts into standard categories.
  • ISO 11171 and ISO 4402: Calibration criteria for liquid optical counters, covering modern and legacy calibration protocols.
  • ROCT 17216 (GOST 17216): Contamination classification reference utilized in international heavy equipment specifications.
  • JTS-005 and AETF1A: Additional pre-programmed classification codes embedded within the operating software.

Key Features

  • Multi-Channel Optical Sensor: The hardware delivers 32 independent measurement gates that you can program in 0.1 µm steps, tracking contaminants across a 1 µm to 500 µm span. This gives you exact granularity when evaluating fine silting versus large debris on demanding factory floors.
  • Dual Operational Configurations: Facilities can run the hydraulic oil particle counter in permanent inline operation or conduct standalone batch assessments. This setup gives plant testing staff the flexibility to inspect fixed machinery loops or evaluate fluid sample jars brought in for bench checks.
  • Adjustable High-Pressure Readiness: The unit handles baseline line pressures from 0.1 to 0.6 MPa, and connects with an available pressure-reducing module to process high-pressure lines up to 40 MPa without damaging internal plumbing.
  • Semiconductor Laser Core: Operating with counting repeatability held within an RSD of less than 2% and a coincidence limit extending to 40,000 particles/mL, the optical assembly minimizes measurement errors in heavily contaminated fluid lines.
  • Industrial Interface Display: An integrated 7-inch industrial display governed by an Android software setup provides clear curve adjustments, built-in calculation routines, and clear viewing across busy shop floors.
  • Information Export and Reporting: Built-in paper printing, internal database storage, and direct USB export let your staff archive cleanliness documentation, while RS485 and RS232 connections supply external communication to centralized facility supervisory software.
  • Optional Moisture Detection: An add-on moisture sensor integrates directly into the stream, enabling simultaneous observation of solid matter and fluid water saturation.

Product Applications & Operating Environments

Industrial operations throughout the United States rely on clean fluid circuits to avoid expensive component wear and unexpected shutdowns. The QualiOPC™ 500 is specified for real-time monitoring in harsh industrial environments, handling ambient operating temperatures from -20°C to 60°C and process fluid temperatures between 0°C and 80°C across rugged American job sites.

The instrument is frequently installed across critical fluid loops, including:

  • Hydraulic System Monitoring: Inline cleanliness control for production presses, high-pressure circuits, and mobile construction machinery to extend valve longevity.
  • Lubrication System Tracking: Constant tracking of rotating assets, such as heavy gearboxes, industrial compressor systems, and turbine bearings.
  • Manufacturing Process Control: Quality assurance for fluids in automotive assembly lines, heavy equipment manufacturing, and metal fabrication plants across the domestic manufacturing belt.
  • Energy and Resource Extraction: Fluid condition checks throughout mining sites, petroleum processing operations, chemical plants, and electrical generation stations, including utility wind turbine installations.
  • Testing Laboratories and Facilities: Benchtop fluid verification and spot checks in aerospace service stations, rail hubs, marine dry docks, and municipal water plants.
